One man was killed and another injured in a shooting Thursday night in North Lawndale on the West Side.

Around 11:10 p.m., two men, ages 39 and 42, were standing in the street in the 1500 block of South Kenneth Avenue when someone walked up and opened fire, wounding both of them, Chicago police said.

The younger man was shot multiple times, once in the back of the head, according to police. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

The older man was shot in the abdomen, shoulder and buttocks, according to authorities. He was also taken to Mount Sinai, where he is listed in good condition.

The shooter fled in a dark sedan and no one was in custody.
