Friday was another stellar night of high school football. San Manuel traveled to Kearny to face the Bearcats and Hayden hosted Mogollon.

Ray’s football team hosted San Manuel last Friday. After last week’s loss, the Bearcats were able to claim victory over the Miners.

The final score of the match was 32-12, giving the Bearcats their first win of the season. It was a tough game for the Miners, who were only able to score 12 points on the scoreboard.

Ray will travel to face St. David’s on Friday, September 6, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Miners will travel to face Duncan on Friday, September 6, with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

In JV action, San Manuel hosted Ray on August 28. Ray took the win by a score of 16-12.

Hayden Lobos

The Hayden High School football team hosted the Mogollon Mustangs last Friday.

The last time the boys saw the Mustangs was during the state championship game last season, where the Lobos captured the 1A Championship title.

The Lobos came out ready to play, finishing the first quarter with 16 points to their name while allowing 6. The second quarter was a battle, but the Lobos held firm, not allowing either Mustang to reach the end zone. At halftime, the score remained 16-6.

In the second half of the match, the Wolves stepped on the accelerator and played with great difficulty. The match ended with a victory for the Wolves and the final score was 50-20.

Their next match will be on September 6 at home against Bagdad and kick-off will be at 7:00 p.m.

Top Panthers

Superior’s football team was scheduled to play Meyer on Friday, August 30, but due to a cancellation by Meyer, the Panthers were unable to take the field. They won by forfeit.

The Panthers will travel to face Williams on Friday, September 6.

In JV action, the Panthers hosted Dishchii’bikoh on August 29. The boys were able to claim the win with a final score of 28-0.
