Man’s reaction to his wife’s new hairstyle goes viral

A woman who had been wanting to cut her hair for days finally got it done, but she didn’t expect her husband’s reaction.

On August 29, TikTok user @emily_lopez1023 posted a video of her husband’s first look at his new haircut. The clip, which shows the man standing outside his wife’s car with his mouth agape and eyes wide open, has gone viral, receiving 2.7 million views and over 124,000 likes.

“When you didn’t tell your husband you were going to cut his hair and this is his reaction,” is the title of the video’s poster, in which her husband’s words of affirmation can be heard.

Newsweek Magazine has reached out to @emily_lopez1023 for comment via TikTok. We were unable to verify the details of the case.

“No way! You look so sexy. Wow!” he said. The woman told her husband that she hadn’t expected him to come out and that at first she “literally crouched down” to avoid his gaze.

The author also appears to be enjoying her new hairstyle, as other videos on her TikTok page show her showing off her new bob at the request of a viewer and offering a hairstyle tutorial.

In another video, the author said she had been feeling the need to cut her long hair for three days. After being inspired by TikTok, she made an appointment without telling her husband.

“I was really very surprised,” he said in the video.

Viewers took to the comments section to comment on her husband’s shocked reaction. His first words, in particular, made an impression.

“‘You look so sexy!’ instead of ‘What did you do?'” wrote one user.

“The way we all watched him fall in love again,” another added.

“He loves her for her and not her looks, he’s one of the few men who knows what it means to love someone, so cute,” one commenter said.

However, not everyone could relate to receiving such admiration from their spouse.

“I got my hair cut a couple weeks ago. My husband said my face looked fatter and I looked like I was having a midlife crisis,” one user wrote.

“Once, after I got my hair cut, my ex-husband asked me if I had complained to the manager,” said another.

Other users pointed out that moments of excitement, even small ones, can last a lifetime. One commenter wrote about her husband, who died a year ago, and said he was always more excited than she was to see her new haircut or color.

She said: “He was my biggest support and made me feel like a queen every time.”
