Commanders suspend vice president after calling team players ‘homophobic’ in video

Washington’s Commanders in Chief have suspended a vice president from their organization for disparaging comments he allegedly made in a video posted Wednesday while he was being surreptitiously recorded on a date.

An undercover woman working for James O’Keefe’s media company went on multiple dates on Hinge with Commanders vice president of content Rael Enteen and allegedly recorded him saying that NFL players are homophobic, fans are talkative alcoholics and the league’s social justice initiatives are disingenuous.

“The language used in the video goes against our values at the Commanders organization. We have suspended the employee pending an internal investigation and are reserving further comment at this time,” a Commanders spokesperson told The Post in a statement.

In the video, Enteen was asked by his date about the team’s makeup.

“Over 50 percent of our staff is white religious — ‘and God says fuck the gays’ — and another large percentage are very low-income African Americans who come from a community that is inherently very homophobic,” Enteen says.

The undercover quote asked Enteen if most people who work in the NFL “just aren’t very smart.”

“Obviously, there’s a spectrum. I’ve met some very, very smart people in the NFL,” Enteen said.

Then they asked him about the players.

“There are some that are completely stupid,” Enteen said.

According to his LinkedIn page, Enteen has been with the Commanders for four years and previously worked on the Jets’ social team.

At one point in the conversation where the previous context was cut off, Enteen said, “Most of the fans, I would say, are alcoholics with high school educations… There are fights in the stands all the time.”

The quote continued and he asked them if they were “like lower class people.”

“I don’t like to use that term. I would say they are fools,” Enteen said with a laugh.

Explaining his role in the organization, Enteen said: “My job is to sell hope to the fans, right? I need them to buy tickets. When there isn’t a lot of hope to sell, I still have to dig deep to find it.”

The quote continued and he asked why there is not much hope of selling at this time.

“Because we had pipes leaking sewage onto our fans in the middle of the game,” Enteen said.

“And I have to post a message on social media saying something like, ‘It wasn’t sewage. We promise.’ That’s state media.”

Asked about NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Enteen said: “Yeah, he’s a puppet. A $50 million puppet.”

The quote asked Enteen to explain the NFL’s social justice message.

“It’s performative,” Enteen said.

“They’re not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts or out of morality. They’re doing it because George Floyd changed the rules of the game. I mean that social justice efforts are an act for the sake of public perception and not because they actually want to drive progress.”

Enteen said it was not to win the support of the Liberals, but to “get as much money as possible.”

“I think the NFL cares about the bottom line, like any corporation, above all else,” Enteen said.

“They don’t really need to save money because they have a lot of income. So they may give false priority to DEI to get good publicity.”
