Teens plead guilty to manslaughter charges in death of Rancho High School student

The four teenagers charged with the death of Jonathan Lewis are back in court.

Treavion Randolph, 16, Dontral Beaver, 16, Damien Hernandez, 18, and Gianni Robinson, 17, returned to juvenile court Tuesday morning, where they all accepted plea deals for voluntary manslaughter.

We spoke to Mellisa Ready, Jonathan Lewis’ mother, about her thoughts on the plea deal.

“I felt a lot of anger and rage and anguish and different emotions. It’s really disgusting that they’re being offered these plea deals,” she said.

You may recall that last month the four teens agreed to have their cases returned to juvenile court, where they planned to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

The teens were charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit assault in the death of 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis.

Metro said Lewis was beaten, kicked and punched to the point of unconsciousness in an alley near Rancho High School.

All this happened in November last year.

He died from his injuries a week later.

Police arrested nine teenagers, but those four were automatically transferred to adult court under Nevada law.
